found these at the central saint martins blog and you guessed it; i love the light, the colors, the feeling… the composition in the first photo is just lovely, the shelf as well. and that light blue color in the painting by sophie jackson.. wonderful! the drawings by tamar hopkins in the last one are mesmerizing and i love how they blend in and stand out at the same time. but my favorite one is probably the third photo of the pita and the raisins (?) by amal kaawash. it’s just so full of emotion and makes me incredibly curious to find out the story behind. perhaps there is none? in that case it makes me eager to create one…

lemme tell you the story since you mistake olive seeds to raisins you are not very familiar with the eastern culture. it’s a typical aftermath of ‘bread and olive’ breakfast or supper for that matter which constitute favorite staples of food in the east.
another story: dad was studying hebrew in hebrew university in jerusalem 10 years ago. he was staying in the hostel of a hungarian jewess. one day he forgot to pick what’s left from his breakfast -probably just like in the picture- when he came back from his class the landlady came up to him.
– Did you eat olives in the morning?
– I’m sorry for leaving them over the table ma’m. I’ll now…
– Oh no I didn’t mean that, the girl staying in room 4 saw it and asked me if there is any turkish staying here?
– !!!
– She wants to meet you actually.
They later met. She was German with a Turkish parent. ‘I saw you before but you don’t have the turkish looks, so I couldn’t guess. But the olive seeds were the definite clue’ she said.
